programmes  —  Running Blind

Running Blind – Libby Clegg is Scotland’s golden girl of athletics. She is a visually impaired paralympic sprinter. She shot to fame winning silver in 100metres in Beijing and now hopes to take a medal at London 2012.

A determined young athlete with strong opinions on her disability and a difficult history, she spent many years struggling to cope with life before her diagnosis with an inherited condition, but Libby is adamant not to appear blind. She now sprints with guides, Lincoln Asquith and his stepson Mikail Huggins. Together with Tom Crick her coach they form “Team Libby”. This film follows Libby Clegg’s achievements from Summer 2010 to her competitions at the Paralympic World Championships in New Zealand January 2011. If Libby wins a medal, she’s guaranteed a place at the London Paralympics.
